Third cohort of BCA Fellowship launched.

The BCA Leadership Fellowship Programme is an exclusive opportunity designed to nurture the next generation of exceptional African leaders. This fellowship offers unparalleled networking and growth prospects at senior levels of various companies, aiming to enhance professional capacities and advance careers while contributing to the broader leadership growth. The fellow will volunteer with BCA on a part-time basis for this purpose, for a twelve (12)-month duration, under the following terms:

Contract Terms and Duration:

  1. Access to BCA email coaching from the CEO of BCA (or designate) and participation in BCA's monthly cohort meetings and Made in Africa Leadership Conferences.
  2. A formal contract will be signed with BCA before the commencement of service.
  3. The fellow is not a regular employee of BCA and is not guaranteed employment upon the conclusion of the twelve (12) month fellowship term.

Duties and Responsibilities: The BCA Leadership Fellow will receive guidance from the BCA CEO and/or an assigned BCA Coach, contributing to the development of leaders in Africa by advancing the purpose and vision of BCA. Responsibilities include:

  1. Engage with eligible leaders of organizations to promote awareness of BCA services and invite them to BCA peer-learning meetings or to experience BCA's leadership enhancement services.
  2. Follow up with eligible leaders of organizations who have utilized BCA services and encourage them to commit to BCA for their leadership and organizational growth.
  3. Assist in monitoring and analyzing the implementation of various BCA initiatives.
  4. Contribute to the preparation and execution of the annual Made in Africa Leadership Conference organized by BCA Leadership.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by relevant senior staff in the CEO’s office.

Selection Criteria: (including desirable skills, knowledge, and experience)

The Fellowship is open to young professionals, mid-career, or new executives, meeting the following criteria:

  1. Be a national of an African country, residing anywhere in the world.
  2. Not currently or previously employed by BCA Leadership.
  3. Government officials, active military personnel, and political party leaders are not eligible.
  4. Age limit: 45 years.
  5. Possess outstanding academic credentials, holding a minimum of a Master’s Degree from a recognized institution in banking, business, economics, or other social sciences, finance, international development, or a Bachelor’s degree with over 7 years of work experience.
  6. Demonstrate relevant and proven work experience, strong communication and leadership skills, consultative abilities, and excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  7. Display an ability to communicate and collaborate with leaders at all levels and work effectively with diverse constituencies in a community.
  8. Showcase the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Selection Process: BCA Leadership will undertake an initial vetting of all applications leading to a shortlist of applicant files for further review. A maximum of twelve applicants will be selected by the CEO of BCA Leadership (or designate) for final selection.
