Metacognition is one of my favorite topics so we are going to circle back to it once again.
Did you know that metacognition, or thinking about one’s thinking, is a higher order thinking skill?
Metacognition helps you slow down, stop, and think about your thoughts.
Are your thoughts running wild?
Are you feeling anxious?
Are you feeling nervous?
Are you feeling afraid?
Are you feeling angry?
When we stop, feel, and sit with thoughts we recognize not only the emotion we are feeling but also the thinking patterns that are happening that tag along with it.
Metacognition helps you decipher between true thoughts and false thoughts about yourself, others, situations, events, and perceptions.
Humans think A LOT all day long. What we do not stop and think about to heal and feel will build up within us like a clogged sink. Not fun to have to fix in the long run.
