Thinking About Video for The First Time? You're Not Alone. Let's Get Started!

You’ve heard about Video. You see it used every day. You want to use it to communicate your message but not sure how to execute? Here are some simple tips to make your video a success!

WHY: Get clear on why you are using video. It’s one of the most effective ways to communicate your message online but without a clear WHY the process and end product won’t likely be what you want it to be.

HOW: Understand how you will use the video. It’s great to have the funniest, sexiest, highly produced video but if no one views it then to be blunt who cares? Make sure you have a clear plan on how you will get eyes in front of the Video.

WHO: Great, so you have the why and how you will use it. Next, who will create the video for you? Will you produce it in house or will you hire a company to help with the process. This ultimately depends on the why and how. The stronger your reasoning is the more time/effort you should put into it and exploring an outside firm makes sense. If your why/how are not very strong then start by creating user generated videos to get your feet wet and better understand why and how to use video.

I always encourage people interested in producing video to do it themselves before ever hiring someone. The process will give you a greater understanding as to why, how, and who is best to create your video content. Sometimes that right person is YOU.
