That's right, if you book a free, no-obligation meeting during the 24 days of Advent, from 1st to 24th December, so we can come and learn about your selling goals and give you a valuation, we'll make a donation to Preston's leading homeless charity, the Foxton Centre - even if you don't proceed to list with us.
The Foxton Centre is Preston’s leading homeless charity, and they will use the cash to make Christmas that little bit more bearable for people who will be sleeping rough.
In case you’re wondering why we’ve decided to launch this campaign, it’s pretty simple: every day, we work with people like you who are in a position to own a home, but there are plenty others out there who are not as fortunate.
Last year in Preston, 259 households were deemed homeless and owed a duty of relief, 47 were accepted as homeless and in priority need, and 50 households were homeless and in temporary accommodation.
But, in addition, 27 people were counted as sleeping rough in a single night last November as part of an annual count across all local authorities in England. And that probably underestimates the total because, a bit like an MOT, it’s just a snapshot in time. Not only that, there are strict rules on who is included in the count - someone bedded down in a sleeping bag or sitting with a sleeping bag and about to bed down for the night gets counted; someone walking the streets with a sleeping bag looking for somewhere to bed down is not.
We can’t end homelessness and rough sleeping on our own, but we can at least play a part in helping. It feels like there’s some natural synergy between what we do and aiding an organisation like the Foxton Centre, so that’s why we’re fundraising for them this Christmas.
Book a seller's advice meeting and make a difference to those sleeping rough in Preston this Christmas
