Thinking
What do most of us think about? Our minds are great tools that gear themselves to solve problems. We love to think.??We love to identify as “the problem solver.”??That identification can be lethal if we become only “he/she who identifies problems.”??That means our thinking mind would always be searching for problems to exist. Three guesses how that affects our moods (two don’t count)!
Motivated by fear that we won’t be adequate to solve problems, we plow ahead searching, scratching the earth for the next problem. This searching can manifest itself as anxiety. If Life lives itself beyond our desire to control it, we feel disempowered and become depressed, hopeless. The whole process can be exhausting.
What if we trusted that Life is happening now and not at some future point that we need to anticipate???Sure, we need to have a general blueprint of what may be on the horizon, but at this very moment we can observe Life unfolding and remain humble and peaceful in our observations. We are good enough to bring what we need to the table NOW.??The mind can become obedient to our self-awareness and not race ahead in fear.??
If you’ve noticed the apps that encourage relaxation and present moment awareness, good, that’s what we must practice.?You may think that’s weird or too “kumbaya” but thriving without stillness and realignment leads us to the long lines at CVS and Walgreens. We aren’t built to endure the stress of a rapidly accelerating lifestyle.?Ironically, we are far more efficient when we respect focus on presence than scattering our attention on past and future.
Wishing you a peaceful day, with love, Rosanne
