?? Once Upon a Time in the Realm of Psychology ??
As someone with a keen interest in psychology, I often find myself immersed in the world of my psychologist friends. During one of their thought-provoking reunions or maybe this is another fairy tale, a young psychologist brought forth a challenging case. A young and successful woman had recently received a promotion, but along with it emerged a distressing OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder).
Every morning on her way to work, a haunting thought consumed her mind - "Did I leave the hairdryer on? The house could be engulfed in flames!" She felt compelled to return home and check. Time and again, she found the hairdryer off and in its place, but the obsession persisted, disrupting her work, making her late for meetings, and missing deadlines, which had once been reasons for her promotion.
The toll on her mental health was now manifesting physically, affecting her overall well-being. Despite several therapy sessions with the young psychologist, every approach tried thus far had failed, and the situation grew increasingly critical.
Amidst a long assembly discussion, one of the other psychologists, thinking out-of-the-box, proposed an unconventional idea - "What if she took the hairdryer with her? That way, whenever the thoughts come, she'll see it right beside her and won't have to go back home."
