How will the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) reshape the tech industry? Until recently you might have used Google to search for an answer to that question. But now you have another option: to ask an AI-powered chatbot, which gathers information from the internet prompted by typed queries. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the latest chatbot, that can write essays, explain complex concepts, answer trivia questions and suggest vacation destinations.
Just two months after its launch, ChatGPT was being used by more than 100m people, making it the fastest-growing consumer application in history. Chatbots are the future of internet search and the key to this capability are Generative Models. ?They are the most promising approach to true machine learning capabilities. Unfortunately, to train a generative model requires massive amounts of data from some data domain and then train the model to generate data like it.
One of the big challenges is to develop algorithms to interpret and translate the search query. Generative AI models are one of the most promising approaches. ?The massive amount of information required is easily accessible, the only tricky part is to develop models and algorithms that can analyze and understand the retrieved data.

Chatbot Politics
Microsoft has announced the integration ChatGPT into its new search engine, AI-powered Bing. ?Not surprisingly, the resulting response generated may depend on a number of moral choices, algorithms and generative AI strategies. Understandably, new chatbots are designed to incorporate learned training to identify and flag offensive content. The human that makes these decisions will use values, choices and judgement of the corporation and its executive’s.?Just as we have news services with political biases, such as CNN, FOX, MSNBC, BBC, we no doubt will run the risk of biased chatbot AI searches.
In response to OpenAI's ChatGPT announcement, Google recently launched its latest AI chatbot, called Bard, integrated into their Google search engine. Both Microsoft and Google have announced their AI systems and products are trustworthy and safe and will incorporate rules and AI learned training to eliminate offensive content from the results.
Microsoft’s new Al-powered Bing can answer questions people pose in natural language prompts. It can compile a list that compares prices of products, such as vacuum cleaners. You can sign up at bing.com to try it, and the company says it will roll out the new Bing to millions of people in the coming weeks.
Conclusion
Has artificial intelligence finally started to reach toward the goal of attaining human though? A Google engineer recently stated that its AI technology has become sentient. This sparked philosophical debate in ethics circles about if, or when, AI might develop a conscious intellect.?
Can Google's chatbot generator or Microsoft’s OpenAI develop a conscience of its own; that is its own needs, ideas, fears and rights? Most experts believe it’s unlikely that either AI is close to consciousness, but they don't rule out the possibility that AI technology will reach that point in the future.?
