THINKING OF CHANGING CAREERS?
With the post-pandemic world era firmly set in, the great reshuffle is firmly established and the workplace is a changed entity.
Buddha said, "Change is the only constant in our lives".????
And yet pre-pandemic that one word had everyone breaking out into a sweat.
Today we have all learned to view change positively and we are using it to reshape our lives and redefine our priorities.
So, should we change careers?????
Erstwhile publicists are contemplating getting into writing, accountants with two-decade-long careers want to become dog walkers, a photographer decides he prefers being a doctor, and another wants to give up banking and become a baker.
But is this just a whim after the 2-year-long pandemic? Is it the covid isolation that's causing us to make an impetuous decision?????♀?????♂?
And not just the pandemic, personal values and priorities change as we grow. What was fun to do for 10 years may not be as exciting anymore. We may then look at newer opportunities and different vistas.
People seek to change careers for many different reasons. Of course, it's a personal decision with many factors involved.

There are BIG questions of monumental importance, Life-altering decisions that impact your entire ecosystem.
Before you get flustered, let's put you to ease.
There's a very simple answer-?? ??call a career coach!!?? ??
A career coach will help you weed out your insecurities, ascertain why you want to change jobs, determine whether the new profession is a good fit for you, what your goals are, what your responsibilities are, what other options there are out there, how to salvage your current job if the new passion isn't going to cut it for you and make your current work conditions better for you to contend and more efficient, help work out another job in the same industry. the advantages of having a career coach on your side are endless when you're not sure.
Even if you are sure, there's no harm in getting expert help to solidify your decision when the outcome is bound to change your life as you know it.
Career coaches lay out all the pros and cons; give you the real picture of both sides (you changing careers; or not) and help you make a correct informed decision.
Once u know you're switching, they will map out the rest of your journey.
From researching a list of target companies depending on the type of job you're looking for company size, revenue, salary, work flexibility, your profile, geography -all are taken into account.
Then come the actual applications.
The counselor will know how to tweak your resume ??for the transferable skills to pop out and point you in the right direction to network.
Counselors prep you for the interviews??????- from making sure you know you are worth and not letting you settle to motivating you, helping you face rejections, and letting you know it’s okay to politely reject an offer that isn’t helping you achieve your goals.
The pandemic gaps in your resume are not a deal-breaker. Same with lesser or no experience in the specific field of work applied one only needs to show enthusiasm and explain the desirability for the new role.
All of these the counselor help you work into your interview and negotiations.
The coach may ask you to study to enhance your skills or recommend courses to educate yourself, they could help work out internships before you take the plunge,
Job searches don't necessarily take a couple of weeks, the process could last take a couple of months...make sure you've saved up.
It's never too early or too late to change your career path.
The key is to have a plan and stick to it. Be fearless!
Making a career change can be scary. But you know what’s even scarier? Regret.
