Thinking Ahead
Christmas is right around the corner. What do you say we focus for a minute on the week that comes after Christmas? I have a friend that thinks that the week between Christmas and January 1st is the most important week of the year.
I can’t say that I disagree with him. We tend to reflect on our year: our successes, our failures…our joys and our sorrows...the things we didn’t quite finish…the things we didn’t even get started on, even with great intentions.
And we think about the coming year: What are we going to do with this clean slate? Will we make amends with children or parents? Will we start a new job? Will we increase quotas and then will we be able to meet them? Will we take this new opportunity and make something of it? Or will it just be a misguided, misdirected, part of a life that is already pretty much in a state of disarray”?
I love the new year. It represents new and fresh and starting over…Could it possibly be that your challenge this year is the challenge of starting over with God? You won’t be alone. I promise you. Because if you're lookin', there's always Hope.
