Think you have what it takes to beat the house?

Omron unveils its first Blackjack playing robot at the IEEE – International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) held at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre this year.

An idea is only an extension of the imagination, when a group of talented engineers from Omron Brisbane decided to create something truly unique to exhibit, it certainly gained the interest of the world.

The Omron Adept Quattro robot, currently one of the world’s fastest featuring speeds of up to 300 picks per minute with USDA food approvals was modified for this particular application.

The ICRA established in 1984 has been held annually in various parts of the world. This year embarks on the first time held in Australia.

This year we see some of the key players in the industry including CSIRO, Kuka, Kinova, Omron and one of the leading universities in research - QUT.

No, the Blackjack playing robot will not be rolled out across all Casino’s worldwide but instead be used as a prime example of the ability to co-exist and collaborate with humans.
