Think About The Words You Use - You Never Know Who's Listening

I’ve recently been getting business coaching in order to develop myself as a person and a salesperson.
Pushing the boundaries is something that came naturally to me from an early age, much to my parents’ dismay. Being someone who likes to approach things from a different angle means that (when it goes right) there is interest in what I do and how I do it. Add to that, I’ve always been quite a ‘loud’ and vocal person when it comes to my job and my voice carries, but what I’m not always conscious of is who is listening.
If some of the above traits sound like you, then it may be that, whatever your level within an organization, you could be quite influential. Sounds great, but it carries a huge responsibility. It means that if you lead in a positive way, others will follow. But if you go down a negative route, you could be dragging other down with you.
There are a great many people quoting these days that success is 20% skill and 80% attitude. Guess what? If you think something is too hard. It is. Perception is reality. If you look at a cross section of successful individuals and teams whether in business, life or in sport. You’ll find that they all have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
I myself can be very positive, when I’ve broken down a challenge. But I can also be very negative at times. I suspect everyone has those moment occasionally, especially if you have had or are having a bad day.
Sometimes I struggle to understand concepts, especially if it’s looking at how I behave. But throw me a sports analogy, and I’ll get it. In this case, it wasn’t until I saw the Death Crawl Scene from Facing the Giants, that I realised just how powerful the right mind set could be.
If you think something is too hard.... have a look at this.

5 年I watched that same movie last week! Perception is everything for me and everyone’s perception is different including our own perception of ourselves on both good and bad days. Nice post!
