Demystifying the NDIS - A simple guide for participants and families
Our latest blog post aims to answers the most common questions we receive from participants, their families and carers who are new to the NDIS and are looking to engage with a disability support provider for personal care support.
We’ve included essential information for anyone new to the NDIS, interested in learning more about the NDIS, or who may be considering working with Help at Hand Support - in a simplified manner.

Disability Reform Roadmap reveals plans for disability reform
The Federal Government has released its Disability Reform Roadmap for 2024 and 2025.
Developed in partnership with states and territories, the Roadmap outlines plans for the next two years to improve the NDIS experience for participants and ensure its long-term sustainability.?
These plans include legislative changes, addressing recommendations from the Disability Royal Commission, and ensuring a focus on quality services and participant choice, reforms to the NDIS and the broader disability ecosystem.
NDIS trials new payment models to improve participant support
31 providers will co-design "blended payment options". The project aims to ensure participants receive high-quality supports that focus on achieving participant goals.
The blended payments trial will test different ways providers can be paid, and will involve combining two types of payment. The first is an enrolment payment, where providers are paid for providing supports over a period of time and the second is an outcome-based payment where a provider is paid when a participant’s goal is achieved.?

Carl will cover the most common psychology assessments and counselling types and what is expected within each, for participants and Support Coordinators.?
