THINK LIKE A MONK(PART 2) - Summary for you!

As the title suggests, this is part 2 of this book by Jay Shetty and Part 1 was out last week.?

I am grateful for every person who appreciated my efforts in coming up with Part 1 of this book.?

That’s why I am here with the second part of this book.?

This book is something that is difficult to summarize.?

It has so much to learn and follow.?

Whatever I write, will always be less in comparison to reading the book itself.?

I always and will always suggest reading books.?

But if you can’t at least spend 3 minutes to read these summaries.?

I just hope it helps you in some way.

And do let me know if you like it.

Before that, I want to thank Jay Shetty and Radhi for existing, coming up with this book, and enlightening millions of people.

Jay Shetty is the person that made me realize the importance of meditation, positivity, routine, the purpose of life, and most important staying calm and patient in every situation.?

I follow the book ‘THINK LIKE A MONK” and them Jay Shetty and his wife Radhi.?

They are a lovely couple and above it, they are great humans.

Read the book by Jay Shetty and you will get obsessed with them, for sure!

For now, Start your journey of learnings with me! Read below:

PURPOSE of your Life

The purpose of your life
The Purpose of your life

This is the most challenging and crucial part of life. To know, why we are born for?

To find out the purpose of our life.

And Jay Shetty made it easier for us.

Here are 5 steps you need to follow:

Discover your Dharma(things you are good at, your thrive mode, to serve others).
Know everything you are.
Identify your passion.
Test drive your Dharma
Embrace your Dharma and stretch it.?

In a nutshell, Discover the things you are good at, and experiment with them until you are sure of it. And then, make it better. Use your energy and time to fuel your passion.

Let me know (in the comments)-

what your passion is and how far have you come in fueling it.

Set your ROUTINE

As a child, we used to hate going to school every day, eating on time, waking up early, completing our homework, and doing everything we must do consistently.?

Can you relate?

SEt your routine
Set your routine

But the routine of doing these things actually brings us here in life. It makes sure everything is done on time without any lack. That’s why it is important to set your routine and follow it until the goal is achieved.?

Here are 8 routine changes recommended by Jay Shetty that you must follow-?

Sleep early to wake up early
Find time for yourself in the morning
Sleep with positive emotions
Find something new every day on the same path
Chew your drinks and drink your food
Live every moment
Focus on single-tasking
Quell external distractions

If you set your daily routine, you are just 6 months away from changing your life completely.?

So, get a notebook and pen and strategically write everything you want to do for the following months.?

Do you own a monkey mind or a monk mind?

If you are thinking what do I mean by this??

Have patience! - Says Jay Shetty.

I am explaining. Read it further,

The monkey mind is when you are not able to control your thoughts.?

They are just moving forward and backward, swinging like a monkey.?

The one we call overthinking.?

Thoughts of fear, insecurities, jealousy, and whatnot.?

And to get a monk mind where you drive the chariot of your mind.?

See the drawing by Jay Shetty below to understand it better.

Monk Mind
Monk mind

Let’s learn how to do that.

Master the senses
Use affirmations every morning?
Use the power of the subconscious mind
Reframe your words and sentences positively
Slow it down when needed
Find self-compassion
Stay present at the moment
-know that nothing owns you
learn detachment

For this part, I would highly recommend reading the summary of #thepowerof subconscious mind which explains it in an easier and simpler way.?

Though Jay Shetty has explained it well, I find it better to understand the power of the subconscious mind.

Crush your Ego, hug your self-esteem

Know the difference, make yourself aware and you are good to go!

Crush your Ego because-

It is a mask that prevents you from deciding the right
It makes us liars
It creates false hierarchies
It is an obstacle to growth
It isolates us?

That is why Jay Shetty suggests us keep an eye on our Ego.

Detach ourselves from this.

Build Confidence, respect yourself, ask for feedback, and hug your self-esteem.

Be yourself
Be yourself!

That’s it for today.?

But this book ‘Think Like a Monk’ isn’t completed yet.?

Let me know if you want the next part?or some other book in the coming week.?
