Think Like a Child

In my diary, I have this phrase ‘Think like A Child’ boldly written on the first page. Whenever people see it, they ask me what it means to think like one.
I remember watching little kids learn how to skate and automatically comparing them to adults that were trying to do the same. The difference between kids trying to skate and the adults was crystal clear as the adults were trying so hard not to fall and because of that it was difficult to learn. The kids on the other hand were trying to fall, it was very ridiculous seeing that. See, I was one of these adults as well. I was so conscious of my environment, so conscious of what the people watching from outside would think if I fell. I was so into that thought that I couldn’t do the simple things that I was being taught. Yet, the kids were laughing and enjoying the process and continuously trying to fall; they were happy to fall. When they fell, they laughed about it. They laughed about it, dusted themselves, got up and tried again…to fall. So, it more or less inspired a lesson which was clear and evident for everyone present (If they bothered to think about it) that in life, in everything that you’re doing or trying to learn how to do, try not to be afraid of failing.
Taking risks is one of the biggest things that has resulted in a lot of inventions that we have these days. Just the mere thought of what people around you would think keeps you from trying to do the seemingly little things that should add to your progress. In anything you do, your mindset should be; I am fine with failing. This is a learning curve because once you get used to that thought you can do anything.
So, when it comes to life and taking risks, think like a child.
