Think Fast But Then Pause

Think Fast But Then Pause

“You are master of what you say until you utter it, once you deliver it, you are its captive. Preserve your tongue as you do your gold and money. One word could bring disgrace and the termination of a bliss.” -  Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu-Talib A.S

There is a difference between “thinking fast,” and “acting fast.”

While some things need immediate attention or action (like swerving to avoid a pothole) most are better handled by taking a pause before we act.

A true test is always…check with our head (our intellect and past knowledge), our heart (our feelings and emotions), and our gut (our intuition, instinct and sixth sense) before acting or making any type of important decision.

Here is some great advice…

Before you speak, listen.

Before you write, think.

Before you spend, earn.

Before you criticize, wait.

Before you pray, forgive.

Before you quit, try.

Before you retire, save.

Before you die, give.

Tip: When there is a tie or you are unsure… go with your gut because if something doesn’t ‘feel’ right, chances are it isn’t.

Yes that's a great post One rule worth while is wait 24 hours before any negative response! It's amazing how different feelings or views emerge over time
