Think Email Marketing Is Dead? CEO Of $700 Million Dollar Company Says Not By A Long Shot!

Recently, I had the good fortune of listening to the MFCEO Project podcast that featured an interview with Joel Marion, the Co-Founder of BioTrust.

It was titled, “Own Your Audience: Why Email Is Essential For A 7 Figure Business”.

The podcaster, Andy Frisella, interviewed Joel Marion about the overlooked subject to share some practical knowledge.

While some have been pondering over the necessity of email marketing when it comes to scaling a business these days, Marion turns out to be a big-time advocate for the marketing channel.

I'll provide you with a few pearls of his wisdom in just a moment.

First, I want to share how email marketing impacted his thriving supplement business.

BioTrust eclipsed $180 million in revenue in the first 18 months of their launch.

Over the last 6 years, the company has done about $700 million in sales.

Safe to say that this success isn't some type of fluke incident.

And each year 50% of the annual revenue comes from email marketing.

While this news may come as a shock to many, it's not a surprise at all to Marion. After all, he's credited with owning the largest email subscriber list in the entire world.

During the interview he stated some eye-opening things for every business owner to consider:

  1. Adobe publishes an annual email report. It states that 83% of people prefer email as the channel of preferred business communication.
  2. Daily use of email is on the rise.
  3. Email is 10 times more effective than social media at getting conversions. Facebook tends to convert traffic at around 1%. Email, on the other hand, converts at around 10%.
  4. Email is an affordable way to test things with your audience organically. For example, you can split test 10 images in email and a have your results come back quickly. Then you can use the winning images on the front end of your sales funnel.
  5. Curious headlines tend to perform best in split-test.

But there's one thing I'd like to add to these pearls of wisdom that he didn't mention.

If you want to squeeze extra profits from your email marketing, then you've got to put some elbow grease into the process.

While email does provide you with the highest return on ad spend (ROAS) out of all other marketing channels, there's more to the process than simply writing emails.

There's plenty to do- e.g. segmenting, pruning, tagging, etc.

And since 80% of online business owners fail to do all of the things necessary, you’ve got one smart move to make …

Contract an email marketing specialist to handle the work for you, or consult with that expert to learn the process yourself.

Since you're reading this post you don't have to search far to find that specialist.

"Email is dead" is the half-brother of "SEO is dead" and both could not be further from the truth. ?
