Newsletter functionality in New Outlook (Preview

Newsletters in Outlook helps you create and send structured, professional newsletters quickly and easily from within Outlook. This feature allows you to build momentum and keep your team informed and engaged.

Microsoft introduced a quite complex Newsletter functionality into the New Outlook app.

The new Newsletters in Outlook feature, allows users to create and send professional newsletters directly within Outlook. This feature aims to keep teams informed and engaged by providing a structured way to share updates. While in the preview phase, administrators can enable this feature for selected users within an organization. Access to the feature is managed through the OwaMailboxPolicy.OutlookNewslettersAccessLevel property, which can be set to different levels such as ReadWrite, ReadOnly, or NoAccess. Users need both an Exchange Online mailbox and SharePoint access to use this feature, and it is not yet available for government cloud users.

Additionally, the feature includes engagement tools like reactions and comments, which can be enabled or disabled by authors or administrators. Recommendations for other newsletters can also be included to encourage greater readership. These settings can be managed using specific properties in the Exchange Management Shell. The page also highlights that all users can read the email messages generated from newsletters, regardless of their access level to the Outlook Newsletters module.

Build your own Microsoft 365 Copilot usage reporting system

In today's data-driven world, understanding how tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot are utilized within an organization is crucial for driving adoption and maximizing productivity. Loryan Strant, a Microsoft 365 MVP, addresses this need by offering a comprehensive guide on building a meaningful Microsoft 365 Copilot usage reporting system. This guide highlights the limitations of existing data sources, such as the Microsoft 365 admin center and Viva Insights, which often provide anonymized or overly broad data. By leveraging the Microsoft Graph API, Strant presents a solution that captures detailed, user-level interactions with Copilot across various Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Strant's approach involves using specific endpoints within the Microsoft Graph API, currently in beta, to gather actionable insights. This method allows organizations to create customized reports that reflect real usage patterns, helping to identify areas for improvement and better support user needs. The guide also emphasizes the importance of privacy and careful data management, ensuring that the reporting system is both effective and compliant with organizational policies. For those looking to enhance their Microsoft 365 Copilot usage reporting, Strant's solution offers a practical and detailed roadmap.
