Think before you leap..to a decision!

Think before you leap..to a decision!

Refrain from taking decisions especially while reading negative comments

Refrain from taking decisions especially while reading negative comments about any organisation.

Let me state this with an example that most people can relate to.

So there is an Organisation ‘A’ which started some decades ago and based of experiences with past employees, situations and circumstances, the organization formed their own ‘Code of Conduct’ manual where protocols for employees were specifically mentioned and strict action was taken if the protocols were not adhered to.

So far, so good.

Now there are all sorts of employees in any organisation. Those who are intelligent, quick to learn things, believe in performance, abide by rules and regulations - because they know if rules are taken lightly then the organisation can crumble anytime – which would also mean – inviting unemployment (if the Organisation crumbles – one again has to set seeking for a job …right?), inviting unnecessary tension (people live on credit and loans – paying back house loan, car loan etc. is a very big headache for senior employees) – hence intelligent & wise (wise - those who may not be academically brilliant performers but are wise due to real or practical life experiences, parental values etc.) employees of any organisation will do their best to keep the company going by giving their best.

Now there are employees who do well in cookie-cutter jobs – usually ‘academically’ average brained - who may get their promotions slowly but nevertheless have a steady income and continue to work in the organization for the sense of security and respect it provides them with. They also fall into the wise category of employees.

Now there is a third category of employees – they maybe be intelligent or average brained – but are ‘irreversibly negative’! Their source of negativity can be family background and upbringing, negative peer group in schools/colleges – whatever – but they tend to behave negatively. Nothing seem good to them. Even if things are going fine with the rest of the employees – they will surely find faults with the functioning of the Company!

Now there are IT and software Companies who do not allow their employees to carry their cell phones in their cubicle – they are given individual lockers and they have to lock it up in there! When I first heard of this I was flabbergasted! I thought of it to be a rather strict – way to strict rule…but later I realized why they had made such a rule. Having worked in the HR department myself as well as also taking care of Project Management – I saw that the developers (some not all) were mostly online - chatting with either their friends or work partners (work partners – those in free lancing together – source of extra income – who doesn’t like it). One may do all the freelancing one can afford but why during office hours? Isn’t that - kind of - cheating the employer? The Organization? So such people will be the ones to raise their voices if their salaries get delayed by even a single day – but they have no qualms about cheating the company they are working in. Such people fall in the category of selfish and dull employees – those who do not believe in working as a team but only work where they gain individually! These are the ones who can stoop even further by divulging company secrets to competitors so that they make some extra income – they are shameless too! They probably don’t realize that all Fortune 500 companies started with just couple of employees – and they worked hard with integrity and determination and turned their humble establishments into Fortune 500 companies!

So why am I writing this – something that is known to all? Well folks, this is the era of Internet – we all read Reviews and opinions before making decisions – how would you ever know that the review you just read about some company or organization is not written by some ‘negative’ natured thug?

So before jumping into conclusions, do a thorough research of anything that you might want to venture into. We have not become ‘antaryamis’ (mind readers) that we will know everything just by looking at it…..

Similarly folks, people who are porn addicts, paedophilic perverts, selfish, greedy and shameless, do not bother at all about progress and positive development of the society ….will never tolerate those who are chaste, loyal, selfless, decent and respectable – you see – their very ‘existence’ get threatened by the presence of people with strong personalities! So folks, use your discretion before deciding on something – that may bring positive change and joy to your life!
