We've all been through many changes in the past couple of years. But a few things will never change when it comes to living a happier and healthier life.
Here are the most important ones:
Simpler Is Better:?Social media is loaded with "gurus" flaunting the latest shiny object … some new exercise, program, or diet that's never existed before. Ignore these people. Become the best at the basics and avoid trainers or gyms that claim to have invented some new form of exercise. Spoiler alert: They didn't.
The Other 165:?Most people make it to the gym about three days a week. Most gym workouts last an hour. So that means there are 165 hours during the week when they're?not?in the gym. What are they doing during all?those?hours? Factors like sleep, stress, hydration, and nutrition also affect how you feel, and your clothes fit.
Quality Matters:?There's an expression about fitness that I have grown to hate, and that is: "The hardest part is showing up." The hardest part is knowing what to do and how to do it when you show up. I can't tell you how many people waste large sums of money and precious time on fitness programs based simply on the idea of showing up … with little or no concern for what happens when they do.?
Mindset is King:?Your beliefs create feelings, producing thoughts and actions that have specific outcomes. If your limiting beliefs are holding you back, the loop will keep repeating itself and producing results you don't want.?
Here's a tip:?
Self-Care is Non-Negotiable:?Many burn themselves out taking care of everyone else but forget about themselves. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup. Put yourself first to be the best version of yourself, helping others.
