The Things We Say…

“Don’t do that for something so stupid next time…” That’s what she said… not realizing…those words cut just like a knife…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??

Being unable to understand someone else’s feelings… or comprehend the damage done… we say things sometimes… not thinking… maybe joking… or horsing around… that we may not feel we mean… but in reality… somewhere in the back of our mind… we must…

Because you can find out… what people truly think of you… especially… when you least expect it… and how something so bland… can easily spell it out…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ~~??~~

I wrote in a post not long ago… “When I’m dead and gone… the notes that I keep… won’t even be a memory…” and it’s not for what she said… but the way she said it… that confirms my inner thoughts…

I had been working on a video… for a couple of nights… fine tuning… and rewriting… to get it just right… but trying to record in an old house… well… it defeats the purpose sometimes…

The creaking of its old bones… that’s just part of it… but there are many noises that make it hard to have silence… so I wait… ‘til late at night… when everyone has gone to bed… slipping into a room downstairs… closing the creaking door… then sticking the clock under a pillow… just for soundproofing… and most of the time… it actually works…

But on this particular night… the weather was cold… causing the heat to cycle a little more often… and the furnace is located just under that room… and for those that understand acoustics… timing is everything… so to fix the problem… I turned the furnace off…

So with that said… I didn’t go to bed ‘til well after midnight… and in trying to stay quiet… tiptoeing through the house… I inadvertently forgot to turn the furnace back on… so over the next few hours… the temperature downstairs… had dropped about six degrees… it wasn’t much… but it was cold…

Now any other time… I would have been woken up… in the middle of a deep sleep… hearing the endearing term… “the heat’s not working…” but for some odd reason… not this time… so let’s let it fester… building up for the big reveal…

My alarm went off… then I heard a noise… and seen a light from the next room… so this was my second mistake… just asking… “What are you doing in there…” (oops…) answered with… “Why is the heat not on downstairs…” so here is where the explanation of making a video went south… thus… mistake number three…

But once the furnace was back on… it warmed up again… in just under an hour… but the last comment… or should I say… the last word was… “Don’t do that for something so stupid next time…” and after so many years together… I’ve learned… it’s best not to reply… because…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? “I Don’t Matter”

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ~~??~~

Something so trivial to you… means so much more to someone else… and we never know what that trigger is… but we’ve all been there… on one side… or the other…

I share this story… not to complain… but to demonstrate that fine line we walk… every day…

It’s up to us… to learn how to brush it off… or own up to it… no matter which side of the table we’re on… but always being mindful… not to push it… and know when…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Just to Let it Go…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ????

?? ? But looking back… all I should have said…

? ? ? ? “The furnace was making a noise…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? so I had to shut it off…”

?? ? ? Sometimes…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? The Simple Truth…

?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? is better than Open Honesty ??

Yes, Dear Daniel a tongue can cut deeper than a knife can. A knife’s cut may heal with time, but a word’s cut hurts a lifetime. The sad part is sometimes we say things without realizing how hurtful they can be…?? Sending you blessings My Awesome Friend????
