Things to THINK about when selecting Auto Coverage

Remember! On average, 1 out of 4 drivers does not have insurance; meanwhile, 2 out of 4 drivers are underinsured! Therefore you have a 3 out of 4 chance that you could be hit by someone who may not have any coverage or does not have enough coverage; leaving you to pick up the tab!

Now, let that soak in a little.

Are you considered to be a part of the 50% of underinsured drivers? If that is the case, the legally responsible driver will have to pay the additional expense out of pocket! So here are a few things to think about when selecting auto coverage:

The Value of Your Assets

Ideally, your liability insurance coverage at a minimum should be enough to protect the value of your assets.

What You Drive

What is the value OF YOUR CAR? Could you afford to replace it if it were totaled? If you lease or finance your vehicle, comprehensive and collision coverage is usually a requirement. If you own an older vehicle, you could save money by reducing these coverages.

How Much You Drive

The more time you spend on the road, the greater your risk of being involved in an accident. Even if you are a good driver, there are many uninsured or underinsured motorists on the road.

Who’s in the Car with You

Do you carpool, drive the soccer team to games or take the kids on a field trips? If yes, make sure you are taking that extra liability risk into consideration.

Auto Insurance Discounts

There are many discounts a customer has available to them, new car, anti-lock brakes, good driver, multiple car, multiple product, occupation, etc. Auto insurance options and requirements can be complex. I offer a free service that simplifies your options, so you can decide if your policy gives you the coverage you want.

Let’s have the conversation!
