Things to Think About: Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated
“Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.” Muhammad Ali
For me, Muhammad Ali’s contributions as a life philosopher just continue to grow. He is someone who aged well and he became known more for his wisdom and common sense view of life than the bravado of his early years.
This quote speaks to everyone of us who has tasted defeat in life, especially those who might be experiencing it as they read this. He is telling us that the failing we feel can, in fact, become a strength, if we let it—a wonderful insight, indeed.
Good luck on your journey!
