Things Moms Never Say
“I am totally crushing motherhood.”
“I can’t believe I ever stressed about taking care of little humans that demand all my care and energy.”
“I have so much time to invest in myself, I think I’ll spend the weekend learning how to play the harp.”
“Being a mom feels like a vacation on a tropical island where the sand is made of gemstones and the water tastes like coconut La Croix.”
- No mom literally ever in the history of the entire world
If you know a mom, you know a real life superhero.
If you are a mom, you are a real life superhero.
Moms are some of the strongest, wisest, most generous people in the world.
But you know who rarely, or maybe even never, believes that they’re doing a good job?
Moms.
I’ve never met a mom who sits around thinking about how good of a job she’s doing.
I’ve never met a mom who feels like she’s doing everything right. I’ve never met a mom who feels like she’s even doing most things right.
If you want a mom to know she’s doing a great job, tell her because she probably has 87 soundtracks, or repetitive thoughts, running through her mind telling her the exact opposite.
This Mother’s Day, make sure you take the time to tell all the moms you love what a great job they’re doing. Write her a soundtrack (or a few!) you want her to remind herself of every time she starts to doubt she’s doing a great job.
And if you’re looking for a gift that will be a daily reminder of how great they are, grab them a copy of my book Soundtracks. It’s funny, practical, and full of ways they can teach themselves how to take control of the unkind, unhelpful thoughts they listen to on repeat.
Word to all the mothers out there,
