Things That Make Your Life “Smart”
Everything seems to be getting smarter, from robot mops to espresso machines. The Product Hunt team put together 10 awesome, internet-connected products to make your life “smarter”.
We love things that aren’t normally connected to the Internet becoming connected to the Internet. From wine bottles and watches, to coffee makers and mops, check out these products that are revolutionizing the way you do…well, just about everything.
1. Kuvée
A smart Wi-Fi connected wine bottle with a touchscreen
If you’re a wine lover, this is a must-have. The Kuvée smart bottle pairs with Kuvee wines and keeps them fresh for up to 30 days so you don’t feel like you need to chug a whole bottle quickly (or stick to just one at a time). The touchscreen allows you to learn more about the wine, measure the number of glasses left, and order more before you run out.
2. Braava Jet
Roomba’s first robotic mopping machine
The Braava Jet is a mopping robot that tackles dirt and stains in hard-to-reach places. All you have to do is attach a cleaning pad and it will automatically select wet mopping, damp sweeping, or dry sweeping. Whether you want to clean stone, tile, or hardwood floors, this little robot has you covered. :-)
3. ZOE by Protonet
Smart home device that connects and gives some privacy
Zoe is a ridiculously cool home device that does a little bit of everything. It can connect to multiple other devices, allowing you to change the temperature of a particular room, turn the lights on or off, learn what the weather is going to be like on a given day, and so much more. This has the power to completely change your experience of home.
4. Airmega
The smart air purifier
The Airmega captures 99.97% of particles in the air, including: pollen, dander, and other allergens. It has an internal pollution sensor that measures the air quality and responds immediately, making your space a more comfortable place to breathe. You can control it via an app on your phone and also leave it on “Smart Mode,” which allows Airmega to adjust fan speeds based on lighting conditions and air quality. We’re breathing better already!
5. Nespresso Prodigio
The connected espresso machine
Now you don’t even have to leave your chair to brew a good cup of coffee. With a click of a button on your phone, you can brew immediately, schedule a brewing time, and manage your capsule stock via the Nespresso app. There’s nothing like having a cup of coffee waiting for you in the morning without you even needing to think about it.
6. Matrix
Create and download applications for the Internet of Things
There are 15 different onboard sensors (e.g. camera, microphone, temperature, GPS, NFC, etc.) packed into this little device, allowing for more than 32,000 sensor combinations. You can do things like: control the temperature of a room, turn the television on with a simple hand gesture, and automatically play your favorite playlist when you get home. We get excited just thinking about all of the possibilities with Matrix.
7. Butterfleye
The most advanced home security camera ever created
There are a number of home security cameras on the market, but Betterfleye adds flair with new technology that will only record when it senses motion. Everything connects to your phone, so you can be in two places at once and watch what’s happening at home even when you’re not there. This is a great device that can be used as a home alarm, a baby monitor, or a pet cam.
8. SmartHalo
Turn any bike into a smart bike
SmartHalo does two things very well: it keeps your bike safe and helps you navigate while you’re riding it. It’ll find you the safest, quickest route to your desired destination; all you have to do is plug in an address, and the halo will light up to tell you when to make turns and be aware of stops and sharp bends in the road. It automatically tracks your calories, average distance, elevation and more without you ever needing to press “start” or “stop.” There’s also an alarm on it that will sound when a thief tries to snatch your bike when you aren’t around. Bike riding is about to get even more fun (and safe!).
9. Chronos
Turn any watch into a smartwatch
Yes, we know there are a gazillion smart watch options out there now. But, what if you love your old school watch and don’t want to give it up? Now, you don’t have to. Chronos is an affordable smart disc that attaches to the back of just about any watch, instantly adding fitness tracking, alerts for calls, texts, and alarms, and more. Your old watch is about to get a facelift. :-)
10. Gest
Type with your hand gestures
Gest is a wearable device that allows you to control your computer or phone with your hands, letting you work in a more intuitive way. It’ll take a little getting used to, but once you do, you’ll never want to use a keyboard or a mouse again. Custom program gestures into actions on your devices to do things like: point at your screen to move the mouse around, rotate a 3D object with the simple rotation of your hand, and if you have two, you can even type without a keyboard. Finally!
