Things I ponder at night while not working. Edition #8

Getting back into the swing of things in 2023!?

We put so much pressure on ourselves when the calendar flips from December 31st- January 1st.?We think about resolutions, goals, dreams, and aspirations...

Every year, I feel I have to sprint out of the gates to make things happen, and generally forget, it is not a sprint.

It's probably?one of the biggest reasons why most people struggle in achieving?what they set out to accomplish in the year because of the pure weight of your own set expectations, in our mind…. "This is the year".

In the past couple of years, I've tried to internalize the objectives I’ve set for myself, personally and professionally.

By using the last couple of months of the year to make a mental list...

Then I use the month of January to internalize "what is important to me” These are the top items.

  1. Be there for?my family and friends, by enjoying every moment you can, as tomorrow is not promised, "creating happy memories, feeding the soul and strengthening the core" of who we are as a person.
  2. Find your passion and live it!?Whether it is climbing a mountain, reading a book or building something from nothing.?Do the things that stimulate you mentally and physically that makes you want to "be the best you can be".
  3. “Dream big!” You may not be able to accomplish these things NOW, but have dreams you want to accomplish or experience.?

These are the dreams allow you to "see there is a future of hope", whether it is to build a software program that improves sourcing, owning 1000 acres of land in the middle of nowhere or just want to travel around the world.?Dream big, create plans and always keep them fresh in your mind.

You may not be able to accomplish all of your dreams, but having them, creates our own internal fire of motivation, pushing you every day, giving you hope.

So… as you reflect on what may already be a failed list of goals you have for 2023 after just one month into the year.?

Remember, one day, month and even a year doesn’t define you.?What defines you is knowing each new day you have the opportunity focus on:

  • “what is important to me”
  • “creating happy memories, to feed the soul and strengthen you core”
  • “be the best you can be”

?

And ALWAYS “DREAM BIG AND HAVE HOPE”
