Things I knew before starting my 1st Business in college!
When I Started up 3 years back, I was still in my final year of Engineering and did not know anything about Business or startups or Art or Gifting.
I didn’t have money, I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have a team.
All I had was an idea and myself.
Here are some of my learnings from going bankrupt to almost Quitting to battling it and growing my company
- Nobody has the time to steal your idea
- Your goals/targets should be quantifiable and time-bound
- Learning to say NO is very important
- Everybody is NOT your customer
- Focusing on yourself, your team, and customers, and forgetting the competition
- Spending money is important to make money
- 100 customers are better than 1000 followers/ Page likes
- Perfection is the best way to procrastinate
- Learning to Delegate work is very very important
- Learning What Not to Delegate is even more important
- Have details of all business-related commitments and conversations in Writing. I have lost a lot of money learning this
- Accounts should be watertight. You should know your income, and most importantly Expenses. Measure what you want to grow
- Revenue, Gross Profits, and net profits are entirely different things
- Finding a co-founder is like marriage, be sure before you commit
- Not everyone who has money should not be an investor in your company
- You will have anxiety, self-doubt, thoughts of quitting, You have to show up every day
There would be days when I’d push my face on the pillow and cry myself to sleep, but I’ll tell you what?
It’s worth it.
3 things I love to write about ?? Products, Personal Branding, and Psychology.
