Have you ever asked yourself, “Why are my ads not getting any ROI?” As a marketing professional, it’s no secret that advertisements sometimes are hard to optimize. To tell you honestly, there were days before when I struggled to find positive ROI from my efforts. And maybe some of you at some point, can’t seem to find a good ROI too. Yes, I know it sounds discouraging! Thankfully, after years of being in the marketing industry, I’ve found the perfect strategies. Here are some simple fixes that you can act upon, if you want to mend an advertisement that isn’t working out:
-It’s advisable to ask yourself first whether your ad itself is good or not. In a crowded audience your ad needs to stand out, so try to take a look at adjusting the way it looks. A different style somehow can be refreshing for the audience you’re trying to reach, making it even more appealing to them.
-Try to ask yourself if you are spending enough. As they say, you get what you pay for! If you find that your ads are not delivering the desired results, the bidding section might be where you need to make some adjustments. The key here is to make sure that you are bidding an appropriate amount for your action!
-As much as possible, try to split your budget evenly, and see how well your ads perform in each segment. If one segment underperforms, lower its budget or kill it and transfer budgets from low-performing to high-performing variants. In other words, allocate your budget to your best campaigns, by drawing off funds from your worst ones.
-Know if your ad is suffering from ad fatigue. When that happens, your click-through rate drops as your frequency increases. As a result, your campaign becomes less effective, and you don't see a great return on investment. So it is important for you to know when to refresh your ad creative. If that’s still not enough, pause the campaign and restart a brand new one later to have better marketing performance.
-Try to test different variations in parallel and follow closely their performance because you never know what works and what doesn't until you actually test it. A/B testing is an important part of fixing a campaign that isn’t producing desired conversion results. You'll be surprised, sometimes the things that you think won't work are the ones that bring you the highest returns!
