- Apply for an advertised position
- Submit resume to recruiting firm or employment agency
- Apply for a job posted on LinkedIn
- Sign up for a volunteer opportunity in an industry professional association
- Schedule a lunch or coffee meeting
- Set up an informational interview
- Connect with a past co-worker
- Reach out to a past classmate
- Touch base with a reference
- Email someone you know to let them know you’re job searching
- Reach out to a recruiter
- Look up possible events to attend to network
- Send a LinkedIn message to an existing connection
- Send a LinkedIn connection request
- Brainstorm a list of 10 people you can reach out to
- Research an employment agency or recruiting firm
- Look at USAJOBS or other specific website) for 10 minutes for job openings
- Research potential professional associations to join/get involved in
- Look for a class, workshop, course, or training to build my skills
- Research a target company (look at their website and social media accounts)
- Look up salary data for the job title I’m interested in
- Reach out to a hiring manager about an interview
