Are things as bad as we think?

It all depends on your outlook. If you read any generic news it will talk about recessions and layoffs, but the clue is within that sentence, generic news. I used to, like every recruiter I know, scroll through the Daily Mail at lunch whilst eating a sandwich at my desk. When the pandemic happened, I started to get depressed reading the news, so I stopped. I have not read the Daily Mail since April 2020. I am as happy as I have ever been. Now I still digest news, but I tailor what I am reading. I used Google as I am an Android / Chrome user, so it understands what I like. This is not a dig at the Daily Mail, or any red tops, the more reputable papers are just as bad (The Times, Guardian, BBC News) are all just as bad. You must remember that most of these articles are people’s opinions and manipulations of stats to their agenda. The number of times in my life the Bank of England or the IMF or some reputable source has got their predictions wrong is laughable. So, my advice, choose what media you read. Do not believe the hype, be informed but be happy.?
