??Rebecca Yarros fans rejoice over ‘Onyx Storm', proving the midnight release party is back?

Read the story

Few are better than book publishers when it comes to building communities. Just look at the ‘global phenomenon’ of Rebecca Yarros’ new romantasy novel, Onyx Storm. Even on the day of the inauguration, it was everywhere – the big topic on everyone’s lips. The midnight release even crashed Target’s website. They’re even calling it the biggest series since Harry Potter.?

But if you’re asking what ‘romantasy’ is, or who Rebecca Yarros is, you’re not alone. And you’d be forgiven for feeling confused at why this genre and book was suddenly in the news.?

And that’s the point. There are communities and cultures out there that are so much bigger than we might think. Brands who aren’t afraid to look outside their comfort zones – and maybe their usual BookTok suspects – might be able to find exciting new groups of customers to engage.?

??Meta will soon let you link your WhatsApp account with Instagram and Facebook?

Read the story

Meta is going to let us link our WhatsApp accounts to Instagram and Facebook. But with app fatigue becoming a real concern for users, is there a risk that Meta is just adding extra complexity to our digital lives???

For this integration to succeed, the value proposition must be clear: simplify, not complicate. If Meta can demonstrate that linking accounts will genuinely reduce effort – like eliminating the need to post content multiple times or logging in separately – users might see it as a practical solution rather than just another data-centralising move.??

Transparent communication around privacy and the tangible benefits of this integration will be key to gaining user trust and adoption.? ?

??The Humorology of Power?

?Read the story

Given how polarised the world might seem at present, it can be hard to keep a sense of humour about it all. Everyone wants to know about our opinions, even though they’re neither ideas nor facts.?

But maybe humour is how we build bridges and redesign our personal and business interactions. The relationship between humour and power is a topic that is worth analysing. It is central to how we deal with our workplace, our employer, our families and our lives.??

Coors Light, for example, recently showed an ability to laugh at itself after it managed to misspell ‘refreshment’ on a Times Square billboard. It leaned into that ‘case of the Mondays’ and even changed its packaging accordingly. Of course, it went viral as a result.?

?Brands are well aware of the potency of humour. Let’s keep it going.?
