A Thing That Works

A Thing That Works

Hello everyone!

Hope you’ve had a great week.

It’s been week 2 of my no Zoom August which I’ve been thoroughly enjoying, though how I find time to get everything done when I DO have a calendar full of Zooms is beyond me. It’s certainly made me think… ??

Some lovely replies

Loved reading everyone’s replies to last Friday’s newsletter question- What do you think about business?’ ??

Here are some of my favourite answers:

  • Your work should be fun and enjoyable. If it’s not, change it to something that is!
  • Your business is about you. What others say or do may not work for you. Be open to finding ways that work for you.
  • The path is never straight, there’s lots of trial and error. Enjoy the trial and error.
  • Show up, no matter what. The best way to learn is to be in the action.?
  • Own and manage our own anxieties, and notice when the anxieties we feel are not ours, but other people's.

I also received a couple of wonderful courtside photos of ‘Nadalcaraz’ – thanks so much Mihaela, that really made my day! Vamoooos! ?? ????

An oldie but goodie

The Olympics ended with the marathon, prompting me to repost an old blog on

Linked In, It’s a Marathon Not a Sprint.

I talk about consistency a lot as I truly believe it’s the little things we do each day, week and month that are the keys to building a successful and sustainable business.

Consistency is key

Like this newsletter.

It’s gone out (mostly) every week for 15 years. ?

Not everyone reads it (average 40% open rate) or responds.

But it’s a ‘little seed’ that I carry on sowing it as so much has blossomed from this one simple thing. ?? ????

On that note, there won’t be a newsletter next week as Jasmine is taking a well-deserved holiday.

In the meantime, send me your thoughts on consistency in business.

I’d love to hear from you.

Have a wonderful week. ??

Some great points to consider Sharon Gaskin??. I was doing some gardening yesterday and then said no more! What did I do - even though I had not finished and could have pushed myself - Sat down with a book and recognised what I had done to that point and that it was making me anxious not being able to do what I wanted to do in that moment. Some would say I should have finished it, some would be with me. I need to do what is best for me at that time and sitting back, reflecting and taking a book was what I wanted to do in that moment. We can often be so focused on what others may think and feel, that we forget how we feel and what is best for us? ??

Love these wise words Sharon Gaskin?? ‘Own and manage our own anxieties, and notice when the anxieties we feel are not ours, but other people's.’ Will take that with me this week and go enjoy a walk up the hill ??
