The thing about progress

EPIC Tip

Progress isn’t about speed - it’s about direction. Consistent small steps in the right direction will ultimately lead you to where you want to be.

EPIC Thought

"It's worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change."

Elizabeth II - Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms 1952-1922

EPIC Trivia

In the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die, Gloria Hendry, who played Bond’s love interest, faced the shocking reality that her body double for stunts was a white male in a curly wig. This starkly highlighted the lack of diversity and respect for authenticity in Hollywood at the time.

Fast forward to today, and the industry has made strides in recognising and celebrating the contributions of women stunt performers. One standout example is Zo? Bell, who served as Uma Thurman’s stunt double in Kill Bill: Volume 1. Bell not only performed the iconic fight scenes with incredible precision but also endured gruelling conditions, including intense sword fights and wirework. Her work earned her widespread acclaim, eventually launching her career as a stunt coordinator and actress in her own right. The shift from white men doubling for women of colour to women like Bell being recognised for their talent represents progress. ?

Let's focus on the win, rather than how long it took to get there.

Until next time,

Stay EPIC!!
