The thermodynamic trap is a powerful steam trap with a simple process mode. On start-up, incoming pressure increases the disc, and cool condensate and air are immediately removed from the internal ring, under the disc, and out through three peripheral media. Hot condensate coursing through the inlet course into the chamber under the disc drops in pressure and outs flash vapour moving at high velocity.?
This high velocity creates a low-pressure area under the disc, removing it from its seat. At the same time, the flash steam force builds up inside the chamber above the disc, pushing it down against the incoming condensate until it sits on the inner and outer rings. The flash vapour is trapped in the upper chamber, and the pressure above the disc equals the force applied to the disc's underside from the inner round.?

Operation Principals:
The principle of the thermodynamic steam trap is based on Bernoulli's law, which states that the static and dynamic pressure aggregate is stable at all ends in a liquid flow. If cold condensate flows into the vapour trap on start-up, the valve disc is pushed upwards, and the condensate is released from the outlet holes. As the start-up phase moves, the condensate becomes hotter, and the pressure increases. Part of the static pressure is then transformed to velocity in the chamber between the seat and the disc.
