There's no such thing as work-life balance

I know you may not like to hear this, but work-life balance is a myth, even more so when you're an entrepreneur.

When googling the definition of balance, this comes up: "a situation in which different elements are equal".

Life doesn't work like that and if it does, then it's fleeting moments, the odd perfect day when things work out just as you planned.

And that's ok, AS LONG AS you have built a business that you're not only passionate about, but that also enables you to have the lifestyle you want.

A business that you enjoy working in, even if it means the odd weekend at you're desk when preparing and launching something new, but that also continues to serve clients and bring money in when you have to take time to look after yourself, your family or friends.

This doesn't mean you have to change your whole business model and retrain, but it's about getting clear on what you want your life to look like, how flexible you want to be and how much money you want to earn and modelling your business around that.

For me, this means I'm able to work from anywhere in the world, but not just virtually. I want to meet clients, host retreats and in-person events when I get to where I'm going, but I also need some (semi-)passive income that enables me to take time out to rest and recharge.

What I'm aiming for isn't balance, but harmony. A business that allows me to have the life I dream of - whatever that may look like at the time (because priorities change).

Are your business and life in harmony yet?
