WHO PAYS FOR THE $1.4 BILLION DOLLAR LABOUR PROMISE TO PROVIDE "FREE" LUNCHES FOR ALL QUEENSLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS?

IF "EDUCATION DOLLARS" OF THIS MAGNITUDE ARE SO READILY AVAILABLE, WOULD IT NOT BE BETTER TO DEPLOY SUCH LUCRATIVE FUNDS IN THE INTERESTS OF DIRECTLY IMPROVING STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES?

SHORT-SIGHTED VOTE-WINNING PROPOSALS OF THIS NATURE SIMPLY IGNORE THE "REAL NEEDS AND CHALLENGES" FACED EACH AND EVERY DAY WITHIN OUR SCHOOLS AS SCHOOL PERSONNEL ENDEAVOUR TO ARREST THE ON-GOING DECLINE IN EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS!

JUST IMAGINE WHAT AN ADDITIONAL $1.4 BILLION INVESTMENT IN "SCHOOL EDUCATION" COULD ACHIEVE!

Hungry children don't learn. That's why schools already feed children. There is one school I reviewed that feeds 300 children two meals a day. It's a good idea but it's implementation and management would be a nightmare.
