But Liesl, there's something wrong with me.
I'm unlovable.
I'm broken.
I don't interview well.
I'm not good enough.
I'm too out there.
I don't have enough experience.
I've wasted too much time.
I hear these all the time. It's always in that little whisper, because we're almost too afraid to bring up.
We're afraid that the reason we can't seem to get what we want is because there's ultimately something wrong or flawed in us. We're afraid that we're just not capable or somehow, we're less than.
And I feel you, I used to feel that way too. That fear of "not enoughness" used to permeate my life. It's so easy to blame it all on the fact that we just have something wrong with us.
But what if ALL that was wrong with us is that we BELIEVE there's something wrong with us?
What if that were all it was?
Because this is what I know - we all are human. We all have baggage and shitty things we say about ourselves. We all carry it around, thinking it defines us and stands in our way of doing things.
But really it's just our belief that something is wrong with us that stands in our way. Once we see these thoughts as just sentences that go through our mind, we can take away their power. It's just the inner critic trying to keep us safe. That's all this is.
And I know this isn't a one-and-done kind of thing (I've been working on this my whole life), so if you're still feeling broken or not enough - reach out! That's what I'm here for, friend!!
Because ultimately, even though you might feel like something is wrong with you, I know you have a beautiful life to live, so don't let that pesky thought keep you stuck where you are.
