What unique value do you bring clients??
A lot of clients are concerned with similar things right now. They’re worried about retaining their customers, employees, donors, or stakeholders. They’re worried about their brand. And they’re worried about revenue. In an uncertain economy, everyone wants to shore up and make sure they’re doing things the best way they can.
Whether I’m talking to a for-profit or nonprofit client, they need to know how to meet the market that they serve. That is, rally people around the central value and meaning of what they do to engage more customers or donors, sell more products, and bring in more dollars. And they have to use different strategies and tactics to do so. That might mean new channels of engagement, partnerships, or revenue models.
These are all things I’ve had to do to help the organizations I’ve served survive, so they’re typically the issues I help GLG clients figure out.
What do you find rewarding about working with GLG clients??
They are incredibly earnest, dedicated, prepared, and ready to go. They know what they want to do, and they know why they’re talking to me. They’re not just dreaming about their goals. They are ready to roll their sleeves up and go. I’m the same way, so we’re usually very receptive to each other. They’re also highly educated and smart, so they’re poised to make strides with good insight.?
Often what I tell clients doesn’t surprise them. They’ll say: we thought about that, but we don’t know how to do it. They might have had the idea, but getting ideas to turn into dollars, or employees, or whatever they’re trying to achieve – that’s tough. So, they typically come with a lot of ideas that naturally align with what I advise them to do, which is great because it means that they can walk away from our conversation with something tangible.??
What value does GLG bring to your partnership with our clients??
There’s so much need for what GLG does. People don’t want to initiate a full-scale consulting agreement whenever they need insight. It’s a lot of work and money to put that together. GLG is such a bright and helpful way for them to learn what they need without getting anything extra that they don’t. I’m happy to do it.?
With high-caliber clients and extremely specialized experts, it’s good to make the pairing through GLG, because clients know what they’re getting, and we, as Network Members, know there’s someone there to facilitate the relationship. I think that’s key. It’s been a great opportunity and experience.
