There's power in "Good Financial Standing" - Trust the process!

There's power in good financial management just like there's power in maintaining a good credit score. We've heard, read & seen so much of "get your budget right, stick to your budget, review your budget, have a budget, write it down - repeat repeat repeat!".

Do it!!! It's part of your #FinancialFitness process.

Money management starts with understanding what comes in & out, your needs vs. wants, having a financial plan & how to navigate through it to achieve your goals, managing your debt & more. All this has an impact on your standing with money. We know there's some debt that one may need to have like when buying property or a little cash injection in pursuing a business venture or assistance in purchasing a car...

We have to pay interest, but how much interest you pay - that power lies with you. We need to teach people to better manage their finances so the journey towards #FinancialFreedom can give them power. Having the power of good credit standing at your disposal is not only impacted by how you pay back debt but also how you treat your money, your spending habits, your savings, managing your net worth (it's not only for the rich!).

2018 was the year I paid myself R38 000: my financial management gave me power over my finances! How?

1. I negotiated a rate below prime for my car

2. I negotiated a lower rate on my bond

3. I changed my banking structure & my credit card rate halved

4. I also used the rewards program as a way to save for Christmas spending (groceries, gifts and travel costs - all were covered and I could still score a bottle of champagne as a gift to myself).

5. Just less than 3 hours ago I called my short term insurer & 5 min. later my monthly premiums (car & house) were reduced by R440pm.

This is still how I plan to pay myself R55 000 during 2019. Of cause I do save most of it towards my son's education. The power lies in good financial management! It's the small steps that end up with great impact, just trust the process. It takes time, but start doing something now!
