There’s nothing like a deadline!

Hey?lovely,
Are you energised or stressed by the deadline??
Last week was ridiculously productive for me. And I know it's because I've got the looming deadline of heading overseas. It's incredible what you can get done when you know you have limited time.?
We have weeks and weeks in the year. But when you know that something is due, or something amazing and exciting is coming up, you can go into overdrive! Well, I do anyway.?
Last week, as you know, I announced my NEW The Emma Lovell Show podcast, which I was so excited to share. But I also thought I was really excited to get ahead with this podcast and record a bunch of episodes because I'm going to be travelling.?
?
I had 7 guest interviews.
I recorded 5 solo episodes.
Reviewed and prepared another 4.
?
This is called batching!?
I love batching content for my podcast, for my newsletter and socials because it means that I can be consistent.
Full disclosure though, I have NOT been consistent ALL the time this year. It has been terribly challenging in my family with my nephew Louis’ terminal diagnosis and it has taken a lot of energy just to get through the day-to-day.?
I have an incredible support team, and amazing staff! I’m really so grateful for them. But the ideas and the messaging comes from me and at? times I haven't been able to think ahead to be able to prepare that content. And that is certainly not ideal.
The other thing that happened to me, and I'm glad in a way that I hadn't batched quite as much, was that I re-branded or brand shifted as I like to say - I’ve always been Emma Lovell. And so a lot of the content that I would usually have shared was no longer relevant or needed to have a lot of updates including colours, messaging and images.
So in some ways I'm enjoying being in this flow state and creating from my heart. But I know that I can also get into a flow state for a few hours and write and share some really great messaging ahead of time. So, as I prepare for a four week trip overseas (which is an episode on my podcast I’ll be sharing soon!)
Here's a few of the things that I have been doing:

By being organised and prepared to go on this trip, it means I can get into that place of anticipation and excitement and focus on what my family and I need to take away with us and to do.
I am so looking forward to sharing more and more of this content with you.
If it's helpful, please let me know. I'd also really, really love to hear about what you enjoyed from this update.
?
Let the adventure begin!

I hope you’ve got some wonderful things planned this weekend,
Cheers

PS. Last Friday, I had my first ever guest episode drop with Emily Osmond! Listen here.
?
I loved a reel that Emily shared last week about the power of five minutes and it actually inspired this newsletter. Talking about how when you feel like you don't have time to create content, but you know you have to just get things done. It’s incredible how much you can get done in the last five minutes.
This newsletter was actually recorded to audio and then transcribed on the plane before we took off for Queenstown, New Zealand, and I would say a large part of my work has been done to the deadline of getting on a plane, packing to go overseas or going to pick up my son in the afternoon!

I do love a deadline and I loved this prompt and reminder that we don't need a lot of time. We can be more productive in a short amount of time.
