There's no need to own a website if you don't have these two things in place

Most businesses have various reasons why they own a website.

Of course, a website could serve as a flier for your business, you know, where people who are interested in your business can go to learn everything they need to know about your business.

But let me shock you to say that that is just the tip of the iceberg of what your website can do for your business.

As a matter of fact, your website can be the main source of free advertising for your business.

You heard that right!

Free sustainable advert for your business.

We all know that serious businesses have serious marketing departments that bring in customers every day.

Imagine not having to pay money every time for advertisements before you can get customers for your business.

Your website can do that for you.

But how do you get customers via your website if your website is not readily visible?

You only discover some businesses' websites via flyer or social media profiles and sometimes, when you search for their business name on Google or any other search engine.

Unless your business is popular, how many people will search you up this way?

Check this out:

You wake up one day and feel your business deserves to own a website, you spend money on creating one and all it ever does for you is serve as an e flyer?

I mean, there are many free services on the net that can handle that for you. Google My Business and different social media pages are some of them.

So why spend money on a website if you are not ready to reap the ultimate benefit from it?

As a business owner, your moves should always make sense. This does not make sense.

What would make sense to a business owner would be owning a website that actually contributes directly to the profits of the business.

What would make sense is only owning a website that can serve as a free advertising channel for your business.

So, before you own a website, you need to have:

1. CONTENT

Human beings everywhere love quick and easy ways to find solutions to their problems and the internet has provided fast and reliable way to get information to solve problems.

If you Google stuff then you understand what I'm talking about. Your customers, your target audience have issues.

They have many problems which your business has to provide solutions to via content.

Do you have a hair salon? Does your customers suffer from pains from tight braids? Well, it doesn't matter if your customers do.

You may say you are careful with the way you plait their hair so they don't feel pain.

Well, this is a problem in your sector, your industry. You want to talk about it, how to manage it, how to prevent it, etc.

That is content. A lot of people face that from time to time. Anyone that has that issue will try to look for how to manage it or prevent it.

What easier way to get solution than to search it on Google? That's how they stumble upon the post you made on your site about the subject matter.

Now, another person knows about your brand and that's like another customer in the bag.

I know it's not always as easy as portrayed here but there are ways to make it this easy. If you follow me, you will learn this soon enough.

So you need content before you think about having a website.

I know it's not everybody that has the time to sit down and write stuff that bother your customers.

There are people whose job is to write and they full this country so they can handle that for you.

2. CONTENT MANAGER or WEBMASTER

You will need someone to steadily put up this created content on your website and do what is necessary to increase the ranking potentials of your website.

You need someone that understands SEO because, without this, you will get all the best content and people will still not be able to see it.

If the content is too good to be perpetually hidden, an SEO will help bring it to the fore faster.

In conclusion, as a smart businessman or woman, you want to always make smart business decisions.

You want to gain more from a single move than is usual. But having a glorified "e-flyer" in the name of a website is you selling your business short of extra marketing potential.

In order to reap the full benefits of having a website for your business, you need to provide content around the needs of your customers and work with a content manager that understands SEO and site growth.

From time to time, I will be sharing what I have learned, practiced and experienced in the web content management and SEO field, so you can serve as your own content manager or so that you will be able to know if your content manager is the doing the right thing or the wrong thing.
