Our members’ safety and security are a top priority for us. We’ve seen an increase in fraudulent text messages to members that claim a suspicious transaction was detected on a Lake Trust account. The text often contains a phishing link that, once clicked, asks members to enter sensitive personal information to verify the validity of the transaction. Lake Trust will NEVER contact you and ask for your PIN, full card number, Social Security number, or login information for Online or Mobile Banking. Any time you’re asked to share personal information (especially when unprompted) remember to stop, think, and ask questions. Fraudsters often try to create a sense of urgency in an attempt to get you to share your information quickly.
