Interesting read. In my previous job we had a workshop on happiness which used the University of Pennsylvania's research questionnaire from their "authentic happiness" website. My results highlighted that 'social interaction', recreational exercise', 'problem solving' and 'helping others' were the main drivers of my happiness, with the advice to seize every opportunity to put these into practice. Golf pretty much covers it, particularly after I've volunteered at Seckford Golf Club's Dementia Golf afternoons.

Totally agree. There is so much that our sport has to offer across all ages, generations and genders. A sport with no fixed pitches as courses are designed around the locality and needs of the community. Accessible to all through municipal golf, where it continues to exist. Intergenerational competition using the handicap system to ensure fairness. A sport that developed the concept of social prescribing with golf being prescribed by Dr Alister Mackenzie in the early 1900's before he concentrated on his course design business. It offers extraordinary opportunities for inclusive sport for EVERYONE.
