Research reveals Polish consumers' preferences for packaging returns

Research by Insight Lab , commissioned by TOMRA Collection Polska , found that Polish consumers prefer returning packaging during their weekly shopping at medium-sized discount stores, using efficient recycling machines located conveniently near store entrances.

  • 42% of Polish consumers plan to return packaging weekly, and 31% prefer several times a week.
  • 34% prefer returning packaging to their main grocery store, 29% to stores close to home, and 26% to stores with recycling machines.
  • 76% prefer medium-sized discount stores, followed by hypermarkets (33%), supermarkets (32%), and local stores (31%).
  • 60% expect efficient recycling machines, and 50% want to return various packaging types at once.

Research reveals significant growth in global skin packaging market

Research by Towards Packaging revealed significant growth in the global skin packaging market in 2022, with notable increases in the Asia-Pacific and North American regions.

  • The global skin packaging market was valued at USD 10.85 billion in 2022.
  • The Asia-Pacific region saw a substantial increase in skin packaging market share, contributing to over 30% of the global market.
  • In North America, the skin packaging market grew by 5.2% in 2022, driven by demand in the food industry.
  • In 2022, 45% of skin packaging innovations focused on sustianable materials, with recyclable films becoming prominent.
  • Innovative packaging designs accounted for 40% of the market's growth in 2022.

Key statistics on Brazilian consumer preferences for recyclable packaging

A Datafolha survey reveals a significant preference among Brazilians for recyclable packaging, though this preference does not strongly impact purchasing decisions.

  • 68% of Brazilians prefer to buy products with recyclable packaging.
  • Only 18% of Brazilians have stopped buying a product due to the material of its packaging.
  • 72% of individuals aged 45-59 prefer recyclable packaging and 69% of those aged 60 and over share this preference.
  • 69% of people with primary and secondary education prefer recyclable packaging. 63% of those with higher education have the same preference.
  • 73% of individuals who separate their garbage prefer recyclable packaging and 22% of this group have refrained from purchasing items due to non-recyclable packaging.
