?Our EduRise Programme?

Alongside our 2 programs, JumpStart, and HandPicked, our focus on skills development for profitable economic opportunities to reduce unemployment is complimented by activating grassroots change to education at early childhood development (ECD) level.??

Under-resourced South African schools face many challenges inadequately preparing their learners for the future. The EduRise programme supports all stakeholders in a child’s schooling journey, cultivating a holistic educational environment that helps learners receive quality education.??

Our goal?

Our ultimate goal through our EduRise programme advocacy campaigns is firstly to get ECD squarely onto the national agenda by 2025 and secondly, for the ECD government spend allocation to be doubled by 2030.??

Our theory of change?

What future workforce and homegrown enterprise will we face if we do not sow into our education system? Here we hope to rely on the ripple effect of 5 key grassroots inputs at ECD level:?

1. Skilled school management sets schools up for success??

If school leadership is capacitated through training and support, it empowers them to put systems in place which enable schools to function efficiently and cultivate a holistic education that strives for excellence.??

2. Equipped principals can better support educators??

If school leadership plans to support educators in core and holistic subjects, then educators will be able to deliver holistic quality education.??

3. Capable educators can open up opportunities for learners?

If educators are supported through training, mentorship, and peer collaboration, then they will improve their content and pedagogical knowledge, gain more classroom confidence, and shift their attitude towards holistic education.??

4. Capacitated community members can impact parents?

If school governing bodies’ members are taught how to support schools and communicate with parents on how to actively support their children, then supported parents can better understand how to actively support their children in their learning journey.??

5. Learners who receive holistic education are more knowledgeable, healthy and creative??

If learners receive opportunities to develop their holistic selves (physical, social and environmental), and are provided with quality education resources throughout their schooling careers, then they can unlock and develop their full potential.?

This theory of activating change is based on the principle that if you are offered support in some small way, whether as a principal, member of the School Management Team (SMT), or educator, you are more likely enabled to offer meaningful support to those in your care.??
