Themed events for Kuaishou 10th anniversary and US R&D center 3rd anniversary

Kuaishou Technology takes on the mission to help people discover their needs, demonstrate their talents and enhance their unique source of happiness. On Kuaishou Technology's 10th anniversary and the U.S. R&D center's 3rd anniverary, the U.S. R&D center started a series of themed events to fulfill the responsibilities of an empathetic technology company in various forms.

These events include:

1) "Be Grateful and Give Back" themed donation event, transforming individual contributions into greater outcomes

2) "Plant Hope and Grow Together" employee themed succulent planting event, plant hope and grow together with the company;

3) "Technology and the Future" Youth Science and Engineering Fair, themed collaboration project with a local association, promoting STEM education for the youth

4) "Retrospect and Prospect" themed promotional video, promoting the U.S. R&D center's culture and conveying employee voices.

It has been over a year since the COVID-19 outbreak. Because of this unexpected pandemic, our lives have been disrupted and impacted in unprecedented ways. Unemployment rate has risen sharply and more people are in need. Social problems in the United States are surfacing and the Asian community needs to unite together. On May 12th 2021, the U.S. R&D center held the “Be Grateful & Giving Back” donation event called for all U.S. employees to participate in the food donations event, encouraging everyone to actively donate and help the local communities overcome difficulties. During the 3 weeks of the event, the participation rate from the 3 U.S. R&D offices reached 70%. A total of 20 boxes of food donated by employees and the company valued several thousands dollars has been delivered to the corresponding organizations.

For the second part of the anniverary celebration series, the company held a virtual "Plant Hope and Grow Together" event for employees, encouraging everyone to pay attention to the small details in life, reduce our carbon footprint, and help protect the environment. In addition, this event symbolizes that employees are planting hope together, wishing Kuaishou Technology and the U.S. R&D center a propserous future.

The virtual event started at 4pm PST on June 11th, 2021 where USRDC leader Lingzhi Liu kicked off the event by summarizng the three years of the U.S. R&D center's establishment and expressing his wishes to all employees. Everyone reviewed the donation event together and planted succulents in laughter. After planting the succulents, everyone engaged in a lively discussion on how to take care of our succulents and agreed to compare the growth of our succulent plants together a month later. This 40-minute virtual event ended with a group photo of everyone with their succulents, creating unforgettable memories together.

The third part of the anniversary celebration series is the "Technology and the Future" themed event where the U.S. R&D center sponsored the 2021 CASPA Science and Engineering Fair to encourage youth's interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and presents the "Life Cycle of a Short Video" themed lecture. This themed lecture strives to excite youth's interest in short videos and the Kuaishou platform. This event targeted youth from around the world, striving to cultivate and inspire young people's exploration spirit, help them develop teamwork skills, and strengthen their innovative and entrepreneurial abilities. On Kuaishou Technology's 10th anniversary and the U.S. R&D center's 3rd anniversary, the U.S. R&D center hopes to use this event to not only give back to the industry and the Chinese community, but also to contribute to the growth of young people, especially Chinese young people.

For the fourth and final part of the anniversary celebration series, the U.S. R&D center created the "Retrospect and Prospect" promotional video project. In this video, we interviewed 5 employees that accompanied the U.S. R&D center for the past 3 years. We learned their stories and listened to their inner thoughts. They shared their work results and their beautiful visions for the future. We hope that through this video, we can gain a deeper understanding of employees' feelings, enhance their pride and sense of belonging in the U.S R&D center, while also continuing to strengthen the company's culture and improving employee experiences.

As an empathetic technology company, Kuaishou Technology always encourage employees to activiely participate in public and team-bonding activities to establish more emotional connections between individuals and society, while also striving to take on more social responsibilities. In the future, we plan to continue creating a series of employee engagement activities that's committed to building a "warm, trustworthy community" not only online, but also in real life. From now on, we hope to guide employees to help the world become a better place and "embrace all lifestyles" with Kuaishou Technology.
