According to Accenture (Patient Services – Pharma’s Best Kept Secret, Accenture Life Sciences, Nov 2015), patients want more help before they are being treated. Data indicate that 34% of patients' greatest frustration is little notification of being at risk for a condition (a percentage that reaches 44% for patients with immune diseases).

The same paper states that patients want their healthcare professionals to be the primary source of information on services they need to manage their health, but digital channels play a key role as well.

All are further enhanced and supported if we take a look at “Digital Resources: Healthcare Professional Demand versus Pharmaceutical Industry Supply”, published by EPG Health Media (Jul 2014). This study revealed that health professionals require better access to educational and informative content through multiple devices and expect the pharmaceutical industry to fund and provide such sources.
