The Clinical Maze is coming to Manchester, Surrey and Cambridge in 2017..! The Clinical Maze is designed for those with an interest in Musculoskeletal (MSK) pathology who are looking to extend their Advanced Practice through enhancing their clinical reasoning and management of MSK and Non-MSK Disorders. The 2-day journey through the Clinical Maze will challenge clinical thought processes through a detailed review of Systems Thinking and its application to clinical practice. We will explore and enhance your differential diagnosis to guide your decision making and Index of Suspicion within musculoskeletal assessment from simple to complex pathology. We will explore Gut Instinct, Masqueraders, Red Flags, Screening and Triage within a variety of settings where clinical decisions are key, with consideration for the management of Care Pathways, Imaging, Bloods, Nerve Conduction Studies, Injections, Pharmacology and Governance and how they impact on next steps.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Enhance your differential diagnosis in Vascular, Neurological, Orthopaedic & Inflammatory pathology
- Recognise key signs in relation to sinister pathology and MSK Masqueraders
- Enhance advanced practice clinical reasoning skills in the management of MSK disorders
- Consider case studies to qualify and quantify our decisions and index of suspicion
- Establish a deeper understanding of which investigation(s) and why
- Governance considerations within advanced clinical practice

I took a relatively unorthodox route into Physiotherapy, from mines and demolitions in the Army, to a Physical Training Instructor in the Prison Service..! Currently working as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist and Injection Therapist within a Musculoskeletal Interface Service working alongside GPwSI and Consultants, which has been highlighted by the Department of Health as an example of Best Practice. Previously, Professional Head of Physiotherapy at Nuffield Health as well as Lecturing at Keele University, I have owned a number of private practices and travelled extensively with Elite Sport to various World and European Championships. My real passion lies with Advanced Practice, complex pathology, pain, masqueraders and rehabilitation and you will generally find me contributing to clinical debate on Twitter @stevenawoor, blogging, running an Obstacle Course Race and drinking Coffee..!
