10th Annual TD VISMIN Credit Cards – WORLDSKILLS Community Mentorship Program

Yesterday, (Thursday, October 27) World Skills wrapped another successful installment of the TD VISMIN World Skills Mentorship program. We want to extend a huge congratulations to the mentors and mentees who participated this year and our partners at TD .

The TD World Skills Mentorship Program’s main objective is to help newcomers secure employment in their field of choice with guidance from mentors whom they are strategically paired with to help them on this journey.

This year, over 30 mentees were matched with mentors, where some participants successfully secured employment within three (3) months – 13 mentees hired, 4 of which were hired by TD while others are currently engaged in the recruitment process. The program ran from July to October, led by dedicated teams from both TD and World Skills.

Marc Gauthier, who has been a TD Mentor since 2015 said he continues to be, “amazed at the courage of mentees and their confidence and dedication to be successful.” He was speaking at the wrap-up session held yesterday.

One of the mentees, Tabassum Chowdry who has secured employment through participation in the program, said the experience has been a great one, crediting TD mentors and the World Skills staff for being hands-on in their approach in helping newcomers. “I want to thank World Skills and TD for taking this journey with newcomers. It was a great journey. It helped me a lot in finding a job and helped me to improve my confidence in a new environment,” said Chowdry. ?

The TD World Skills Community Mentorship Program was established in 2011 and has matched hundreds of newcomers with mentors who provided guidance to finding meaningful employment.
