That's some great video work

As a father I guess it would be natural for me to say things like my son Evan is very talented and his work is amazing. I am so proud of his skills and achievements. These are the things we are supposed to say when it comes to our children right? So yes, I am a bit guilty of that but please hear me out. I have evidence to back all this up, I have the photos! I mean videos to back it up not to mention the behind scenes scoop.??
So now that's out of the way, a bit to qualify my professional opinion. I have been in the business of creating content for around 30 years. I have worked for companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Apple and currently Amazon Web Services. I create and produce video and media content. These days my work is focused on learning for cloud engineers.. so I do have the experience and can present evidence of his talents objectively :)? But that’s enough about me. Back to bragging about my son.?
Since Evan was young he’s had an interest in making videos and doing special effects or motion graphics. In the beginning there were a lot of practical effects like explosions with fireworks or making breakables. He and his talented brother Alec have been making shorts since they were about 5 and 9. They got the bug, I had the gear, and with their creative ideas they never looked back. Years back I remember buying myself a GoPro just after they came out. I pretty much never saw it again. I have always had cool gear and loved that my sons have had access to great tools to express themselves and be creative. My plan worked. My boys have been working on their storytelling and video skills since they were still watching Thomas The Tank Engine. Don’t get me wrong they would also throw in the occasional puppet show or musicals. However, at some point it went from then strongly encouraging me to purchase a ticket to a puppet show, to please come?watch the video I just made on the computer. It hasn't stopped since, only these days it’s "look how many hits I got on my Youtube video". Or in Evan’s case "check out this commercial I worked on for Salty’s on Alki" or "this quirky political ad with kung fu in it."
As the years have gone on they both have kept at it, continually raising the bar on quality. My youngest son is also, as they say, "in the biz.” Alec has gravitated to fight choreography, writing shorts and choreographing fight sequences. He is also an accomplished martial artist with a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo. Out of high school he went to stunt school and has continued to excel in his area. He is creating great short form content on social media and is working towards a bigger project. You should check out his work on his Action Filmist Youtube channel.
Evan has focused on the production end of the house. He is?the one behind the camera and doing the post production. He specifically has worked hard in areas like motion graphics, audio and video editing. Evan attended Bellevue College attained an Associates Degree in Digital Media Arts. He then continued on another year to get a certificate in Advanced Video Production where he did real work for the City of Bellevue. Since then Evan has done several years of freelance projects, and has spent the past three years working for Prologue Digital as Art Director. It’s a smaller agency so what that really means is directing the creative, helping on set shooting the video, and handling post production such as editing and creating motion graphics.
I have a bit of a confession to make. Over the years Evan has also been an adviser to me keeping me up on the latest tools and trends in video production. He has shot and edited videos for me in some of my Mojocat projects for my clients. He has created important? motion graphics for several of my biggest clients. His creative influence and input has helped me stay current in my toolset and trends in creative.?
?Evan's services to his clients include cinematography and video production for all types of applications. One area of focus and passion for him is Drone video. He is a licensed drone pilot and I love his work here. I love the effect of drone movement. It connects in a cool way to the viewer. Another thing I have always enjoyed about Evan's work is his audio skills. He has a great ear and rhythm, probably because he is also a musician. He has done some great projects where he has edited the video to follow and reflect the music and/or sound effects and foley. Ok I will stop the chatter and just show you what I am talking about.

* As a closing note: like many, Evan’s work has been affected by the craziness of the past year and he is looking to fill that gap and expand his client list. Or maybe find a cool full time gig for the right company.
Check out some of his work:
Here is Evan's portfolio to check out.?The top of his page shows a sort of reel built into the webpage. Cool effect and it really shows his work.
