That's No MVP! Defining MVP, MMF, MMP, and MMR
The term minimal viable product (MVP) has achieved buzzword status in recent times and I’m now hearing people throwing around the term MVP almost on a daily basis. Sometimes they’re using it correctly but many times they aren’t. The issue is that it’s common for people to say MVP when they are actually talking about a minimal marketable feature (MMF), a minimal marketable product (MMP), or even a minimal marketable release (MMR). As you can see, these terms are very similar to one another so we shouldn’t be surprised that there’s a bit of confusion around them. So I decided to clear things up by writing a blog posting about this entitled Defining MVP, MMF, MMP, and MMR.
The blog works through definitions of all four terms, argues that minimal is more appropriate than minimum or minimal, then works through a product development example so that you can gain a better understanding of the four terms.
It will be nice to get an update link for the "Defining MVP, ..." as the link is currently broken. Thanks.
